Family Pet Retreat, LLC Pampers Pooches

Spring residents just got a new and unique place to board their pets. Family Pet Retreat, LLC is quickly becoming the area’s best all-inclusive indoor/outdoor dog care facility offering daycare, boarding, and grooming.

Owners Antonio and Miriam Saravia opened the facility in June, with the mission to deliver a top-notch experience for the dog(s) and their owners by providing a fun, safe environment where the animals can be stimulated through interaction. The couple started in the pet care business when Miriam, a teacher for 14 years, began taking in her colleagues’ pets because they were unhappy with the care their animals received while they were away. “So many of our friends were having bad experiences at the kennels they used so Miriam offered to give their ‘babies’ the love and attention they needed right in our home,” Antonio shared.

After five years of researching the pet care industry while caring for their friends’ dogs, the pair realized they had a passion and commitment to open the best dog care facility in the area. Their goal quickly became one of creating an all-inclusive facility with a fun and safe environment where dogs would love to come and play. “We want all pet owners to feel 100% confident in the superior care that their dogs were receiving.”

The couple and their staff, Cory and Noel, have worked hard over the past five months to instill complete peace of mind for their clients. “A lot of people have pets but don’t know how to socialize them and don’t know how to stop certain issues that some of them develop due to lack of interaction orsocializing,” Antonio explained.“When our clients call with questions, we talk to them and get them to tell us the issues they are having with their pet. We want to earn their trust every day!”

Home-like Environment The 5,700-square foot business is spread out over 1.5 acres of country-like setting and caters to letting dogs do what they do best— whether it’s running in one of the many free-range backyards, playing with friends, or just lounging around.

“All dogs are separated according to size, temperament, and activity level,” shared Antonio. Once the animal has their first visit, staff members work to develop a bond and get to know the pet so that they are better able to work with them as far as any issues they may have. “Dogs who partake in daycare enjoy spacious indoor/outdoor supervised group play areas featuring interactive elements including balls, chew toys and, of course, human companions to run with them.”

Cage-free Living

The Saravias believe that pets need a homelike setting when away from their home in order to encourage positive behavior. “Our visiting dogs get to roam the facility because they’re not happy if they have to be contained in a cage all day. It makes a world of difference keeping dogs in an open environment,” the dog lover emphasized.

The couple’s dedication and love for animals is unmatched and Family Pet Retreat’s unique approach to animal boarding has caught on with both animals and people alike. “We offer a dorm-like environment with large, wide-open rooms boasting soft, home-style beds. The building is fully airconditioned and heated, further providing the utmost comfort for your pet.” And after a hard day’s play with their buddies, the dogs enjoy dinner and evening treats before cuddling up for a restful night—just like home!

Although the resort has only been open for a few months, the owners have seen a steady stream of clients who have entrusted their dogs to their care. “I credit it to the way our staff is accommodating to all special requests. In addition, we also keep our families updated on their animals while they’re away, through sending photos and videos via Instagram and Facebook. We want to ensure that each visit to our facility is a memorable experience!”

Grooming Services

Family Pet Retreat also offers a variety of services including full-service grooms, baths, deshedding, flea treatment, teeth brushing, and nail trims at affordable prices.

“We use top-of-the-line products on the animals because we want them to have the same love and care to which they’re used to at home. They are part of our family—the name of our facility says it all,” said the proud rescuer of Nix, a three-year old Labrador retriever. “We live in the area and we want our clients to feel like we are ‘neighbors helping neighbors’.” The owners are also big supporters of local animal rescues, as they ended up with a wonderful family dog through rescuing. “People should feel comfortable in knowing that we feel excited when we hear how happy and better behaved their pets have become since coming to us.”

Pawsitively Perfect Experience

At Family Pet Retreat, visiting fur babies are fully prepared for belly scratches and hugs and kisses. “We love seeing happy pups come running to greet us because those furry, wagging tails are the reason why we love what we do. After all, who wouldn’t want a love as loyal as a well-cared for dog?” Antonio asked.

So the next time you go on vacation, bring your dog to his, or her, vacation at Family Pet Retreat. Your pets will be relaxed and happy that you did!!
