In the fourth largest city in the U. S., nestled in a picturesque campus in Northwest Houston, is Northland Christian School. A college preparatory school for ages 18 months through 12th grade, Northland offers programs and facilities, which give students opportunities to discover their abilities and God-given gifts.

“Creating the Triple- reat” Although Northland is a premiere private school, which produces top-notch scholars year after year, Northland provides an environment where a “triple threat” can take place. Many of the students at Northland Christian School excel not only in the classroom, but also on the field, on the stage, in a debate forum, or in the community.

On any given Friday night in the fall, Cougar Stadium provides the backdrop for a small town feeling in the booming metropolis of Houston. While the State Champion Cougars battle on the football field, they are cheered on by students of all ages. One-third grade student, Jackson Leard, has become the Cougar’s biggest fan. Jackson creatively began making clever pre-game videos each week to cheer on the Cougars. At a young age, he writes and produces the videos, which have become a fan favorite. In addition to this creative endeavor, Jackson shines in the classroom at our Elementary campus and excels on his flag football team. Jackson is one of Northland’s youngest “triple threats.”

When asked about Northland, Jackson replied: “ I love my teachers, and I like that we have PE and recess every day. I like all of the extra fun things we get to do at Northland like Honor Choir and Science Night and the PE Show.”

The secondary campus houses both the middle school and high school. The middle school allows students to begin to explore their talents from a multitude of athletic teams to drama to debate. Lilly Broussard, an outstanding 7th grader on campus, shines in classroom in her Honors level classes, as a middle school cheerleader, and on the debate circuit. Northland Christian School has an internationally recognized debate program and gives middle school students the unique opportunity of beginning this endeavor at a young age.

Northland continues to help students discover their potential at the high school level. The school offers a variety of top-notch AP courses, hosts a successful International program, creates nationally recognized athletes and produces talented musicians and actors. Northland also has an internationally recognized debate team, which not only competes nationally, but has had two students receive the honor of being on the World Debate Team. In addition, Northland understands the utmost importance of giving back to the community through community service. Raquel Marroquin, a “triple threat,” has volunteered at a local hospital for the past four years. A future doctor, Raquel understands serving others through her philanthropy. Also a talented violinist, Raquel performs with Northland’s acclaimed orchestra and is a key player on the high school robotics team. Northland’s robotic team allows students to be exposed to the newest technology and use their ingenuity to create and explore.

In her last year of high school, Raquel said this about her Northland education:

“Attending Northland Christian School has given me the wonderful opportunity to make long lasting friends and receive the support of amazing, dedicated, and nurturing teachers who have taught me not only how to excel academically, but also how to navigate the world in a Christlike manner.”
